What is Canvas?
Canvas is the digital campus of ½ñÈÕ³Ô¹Ï. Some courses are fully hosted online at Canvas; other times instructors will utilize Canvas as part of a ‘hybrid’ course, where students meet face-to-face as well as participate in class online.
WAOL Courses vs. ½ñÈÕ³Ô¹Ï Online Courses?
WAOL (Washington Online) courses are taught by instructors from various colleges and are open to students around the state. Because WAOL courses are utilized by colleges around the state, the schedule for those courses is different than the ½ñÈÕ³Ô¹Ï quarter schedule, with WAOL classes often starting sooner than ½ñÈÕ³Ô¹Ï courses. ½ñÈÕ³Ô¹Ï courses are taught by ½ñÈÕ³Ô¹Ï instructors for ½ñÈÕ³Ô¹Ï students, so they are on the same schedule as our face-to-face classes each quarter.
